The jipi japa baskets are perfect for home decor and organization. The Jipi Japa leaf is a soft type of palm that grows in the state of Campeche. The leaves are divided into smaller threads, then dyed and woven. By weaving different colors they create beautiful, unique patterns.This family of artisans has been weaving baskets for generations. It is hard to obtain the exact same color in every dye because it depends on the season the palm was collected, what the weather was like and how the color was absorbed. The sizes may also vary a little depending on how the hand weaves it and how the palm reacts. This is what makes each one unique.
