Our Code of Conduct
We believe that making is a form of creative expression and self-realisation. It should bring dignity and respect to all those who participate in the process.
Making must enable people to meet their basic needs of shelter, food, clothing, education and health, with some savings for life events.
The act of making must be safe and healthy. It must protect the participants, their families and communities.
Making should nurture ability, craft and skill to enable people to progress personally and professionally.
Making should be meaningful and foster belonging and purpose amongst those who participate.
Making should make the world a more equal place.
Makers must help eradicate forced and child labor and all forms of exploitation that rob people of their human dignity.
Makers must enable agency, voice and independence for all those they work with.

Areas of Focus + Goals
Sustainability standards for small batch producers is scarce. Certifying bodies are designed for mass production factories and are neither applicable or accessible to small producers. We are committed to working with responsible makers and partners and are dedicated to make progress to makers on a global scale. We believe in progress over perfection, and strive for a more transparent future.
Our 2023 goal is to assess 50% of makers on our platform, work with them over time to mature across our three key pillars of sustainability, Social, Environmental and Governance and report back the results for continual improvement.
