Maíz is the Spanish word for Corn. In the San Bartolo murals, there is a cave and inside it, kneeling directly over the gigantic snake, a woman is seen offering a basket of tamales, one of the earliest known examples in Mayan art.

The backside of the pillow is solid cream-colored cotton fabric.

Woven on a backstrap loom by women in the highlands of Guatemala.
