This is a 2-liter, water-sealed crock to ferment foods. The large lip is filled with water so that it prevents outside air from entering the crock. The advantage of this liquid seal is that it allows the carbon dioxide, which is created during fermentation, to escape. The crock comes with ceramic weights to keep the ingredients under the brine. Especially good for making sauerkraut.

The jar keeps the fermentation odors inside the crock, and flies or fruit flies cannot get in. It keeps the ingredients in a dark atmosphere, so no need to store your jar away.
