Talk about an authentic #notwasted story! Our leather products are handmade in “The Brothers” Workshop in Jubilee, a small developing community by the sea, on the outskirts of Gonaives. Founded by Benson Thermidor, this workshop employees over 20 people and is changing the story for people in this neighborhood.<br><br>

<p>The 100% bio-degradable handmade fan is manufactured in two parts. Firstly, the wood is hand carved in Escárcega, Campeche by Felipe; after this, the pieces travel to Oaxaca, where Don Luis hand-weaves them using a local fiber called G'noo Xombe Nisin in his mother tongue, Mazatec. All our pieces are hand-made using local raw materials, please take into consideration that there might be slight changes in the color of the wood or fiber. Every piece is unique!</p>

Leposo Adi Beaded Leather Belt

<p>Our Becal fans feature the work of two different artisans from the State of Campeche in southeast Mexico. First, Frederico, who lives in the small town of Escarcega, hand cuts the wood and with the help of a lathe, he perfects the shape of the fan holder. Secondly, Milagro de Atocha, from Becal, is in charge of the weaving process. She collects the Jipi Japa palm fibers and gives them a special treatment for them to be the right colour and texture to begin the weaving process. All the weaving is done in underground cave as they provide the perfect humidity for the flexibility of the fibers. It takes Milagro about six hours to weave one fan. Every piece is unique and 100% bio-degradable.</p>
