As the founders of Apache Tribu like to say, “More humans, less machines.” Sisters Maria and Tatiana Acosta created their brand with the mission of providing sustainable employment to women artisans, while designing and creating handmade accessories that celebrate Mexican culture. Apache Tribu—which comprises a small workshop that employs a handful of women artisans—considers itself a slow-fashion brand, weaving together (quite literally) modern designs with touches of Mexican handmade embroidery. Their unique pieces—particularly their iconic hats—embrace the authentic look of Mexican culture in a way that feels both modern and fashionable. Because of the artisanal, handmade process, the color and texture of every piece varies slightly, making each product one of a kind.
