Story

Block printing is a centuries-old craft technique using hand carved wooden blocks to print patterns on fabric. Each color requires a different block for printing. Fabric is printed by block printers in Bagru and then stitched by women artisans of Tilonia.

Because our fabric is printed with AZO free dyes (to avoid harsh chemicals), the colors can soften over time. Dry cleaning for the first cleaning will help set the dyes as will pressing the item with an iron. After the initial cleaning, our block print bedding and table linens are machine-washable. Wash block print items on a gentle cycle in cold water to help preserve color and shape. Use a laundry soap rather than laundry detergent to preserve color. Air dry or dry on a low heat setting to prevent shrinkage as these items are 100% cotton.
