Glass beads were circulated in Africa by Europeans through trade routes. Originally used as currency between Europe and Africa, glass beads date back to somewhere between the 16th and 18th century. Over the years Glass beads have become a significant part of African traditions and culture and are used as a means of expressing social and cultural identity.
We use high quality size 11/0 Preciosa & Miyuki Glass Seed Beads
All our neck pieces are made from glass beads that can be gently wiped clean using a soft cloth dampened with water only. Do not use any harsh soaps or cleaning agents.
