Thabo Makhetha

Story

Established in 2009, the brand is lauded for shifting fashion trends through its use of the traditional Basotho blankets, inspired by the cultural heritage of its founder. 

In 2013 the label launched its Kobo ready-to-wear collection of luxury jackets, coats and capes made from Basotho blanket. The following year Thabo Makhetha was awarded the Impact Award for Design and the brand made its runway debut at Vancouver Fashion Week in Canada. 

Thabo Makhetha is a sustainable brand, inspired by more than 150 years of cultural heritage. We believe people can shop consciously and live in sustainable luxury. That’s why we don’t do fast fashion. We believe in being intentional and in everything we do there is meaning.
