Pia Design was founded by Marie Ange Sylvain-Holmgren in 2017 to slow the exodus of skilled artisans from Nepal to other countries. Success! Her team of five now designs products that are produced by local artisans in their own workshops or homes. (All Pia’s designs are handcrafted, so orders are capped at 100 pieces and the brand’s lead time is between 1 and 3 months.)

With a foundation of heritage craft, Pia artisans also push the limits of innovation. The copper Maana cup is inspired by a traditional Nepalese cup used to measure rice, and the handwoven scarf is made of organic cotton and vegan dyed. Whether you want to cuddle up with a wool blanket or catch the light with a hand-hammered candle holder, Pia creates something for every mood. Crafted with love and precision, each piece finds a spot of grace among industrial, glam and modern décor.
