Story

Frankincense resin is an aromatic resin obtained from the Boswellia tree, which grows in Asia and Africa, known as Sweetgum in Turkey. Resins are the oldest forms of incense used before sticks or cones. The resin of this fascinating plant has been used for over 5,000 years. It was not only used as incense, but also in mixtures used by healers, or in perfumes, and it was considered to be more valuable than gold.

Before many religious ceremonies, Frankincense resin was used to prepare the environment for the ceremony and to create a sacred space. It was said that the resin burned for this purpose revealed the angels, and the smoke that rose when the resin burned helped to carry prayers and gifts to heaven.

In Egypt, Frankincense Resin, which was mixed with embalming materials, was also placed inside tombs to help spirits travel to the afterlife after leaving their bodies.

Among many cultures around the world, the scent of this resin was believed to increase one's spiritual connection and intuition. The Chinese called it "fanhunxiang", which means "recalling the scent of the spirit".

Today, it is often used in meditation as it is calming, grounding and pleasing to the senses. It helps one be more present in the present and promotes feelings of peace.
