About Leera Crafts

Leera means “pieces of fabric” in Marwari, the local language spoken in the Indian state of Rajasthan. And these stunning fabric-based pieces are handmade through heritage techniques, including Bandhani (tying small knots in different colors to create a pattern) and Shibori (a dyeing method that creates mesmerizing designs). The artisans begin by making table linens and silk scarves, and then they upcycle the even smaller fabric pieces to create stylish bookmarks and pouches.

But Leera has another meaning, too: Livelihood Empowerment and Encouragement of Rural Artisans, which speaks to the heart of its mission. Born amidst the pandemic, Leera Crafts provides space and inspiration for local artisans to cultivate confidence and independence. Ready to ship, made to order, and custom developed, these pieces of fabric empower Leera’s community and revive any modern home.
