About EkiBeki

EkiBeki is a social enterprise that works to preserve the rich craft heritage of India and promote traditional arts and crafts in contemporary forms. Its products are handcrafted by talented artisans living in remote villages of India and are made from eco-friendly materials, perfect for helping create a sustainable future. In the Marathi language, “Eki” stands for odd, unique, or unity, and “Beki” means even, common, or diversity. True to its name, EkiBeki achieves balance by bringing together things that have traditionally been perceived to be at odds with each other. It refers to oneness of interests, sentiments, and pursuits among different groups or entities. EkiBeki’s aim, as evidenced by its glass-enameled, pure-copper wall hangings, is to revive the folk arts and crafts of India, help generate sustainable livelihoods for artisans, and spur the growth of community craft clusters where the artisans live.
