These beautiful handmade earrings are inspired by both the flying termite insect and the burdock plant. The inside of the earring has the cut out of the wings of a flying termite - they are a kind of insect that come out after the heavy rains to mate and while they do so they lose their fragile wings and litter the ground with them in the process. The outside part of the pendant has 4 burdocks on each side. They are a kind of seed that gets stuck on clothes and shoes when you take a walk in long grass in the highlands of Kenya.
