Story

It's simple and modern shape is in harmony with traditional, Turkish motifs. It is decorated with gold veins that run through its smooth walls, giving it the appearance of Kintsugi -a Japanese restoration technique of broken ceramics. Unlike Kintsugi technique, our vase is a whole piece and not produced by mending broken pieces. Each piece is unique with its decorative gold pattern, and individually crafted and painted by hand. Liquid gold leaf is used for decoration.

Solid, high-fired stoneware clay, when completed with your special decorative objects, will create a warm feeling . Each vase is handcrafted and retouched for a perfect shape. Then, we first fire them at 900 ∞C (1652 ∞F). It is called bisque firing. After bisque firing, we retouch them again and high fired at 1200 ∞C(2192 ∞F)to reach their final form. All items are carefully inspected, wrapped and shipped. It would make an original gift for art lovers, art collectors, or new homeowners. If you are buying it as a gift, please let us know! We can send your gift with a personalised hand-written message of yours on a beautiful handmade paper.

This collection is created by Asli Aydemir with the name ‘Cincik'. Cincik (potsherd) is used to describe a broken piece of a ceramic material, especially one found on an archaeological site. Cincik collection is the contemporary interpretation of Ottoman ‘Çini'patterns. Shaped and painted by hand, the objects compose a collection yet each piece is unique and has a certificate of authenticity.
